Medicin med detsamma

Min käre hädangångne far prenumererade på New Wine Magazine. Här kommer ett utdrag ur New Wine.

"Depression is a complex illness that is unique in its origins and expression in each individual. There is great hope for healing for the Christian because the two most effective tools in combating depression are available to them: thanksgiving and forgiveness. If the three steps* above have been carried out, I would suggest that one more thing is needed: to practice thanksgiving and forgiveness conscientiously and persistently in prayer, with a trustworthy mentor. For the Christian these are not only good psychological tools but the gateway into the presence of our loving God who has the power to heal and restore: ‘Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name’ (Ps 100:4)."

1. Share the problem with someone trustworthy, but not a family member

2. Seek professional medical help and consider antidepressants if offered them

3. Consider counselling/talking therapy

‘Without good direction, people lose their way; the more wise counsel* you follow, the better your chances’ (Pro 11:14 The Message).
*Sådan som FF(3a) inte brydde sig om att vara för mig!

‘By yourself you’re unprotected. With a friend you can face the worst. Can you round up a third? A three-stranded rope isn’t easily snapped.’ (Ecc 4:12 The Message).

Och så ett Bibelord, med tanke på FF(3b) (samt "styvpappa").

Psalm 1:1 (Amplified Bible)

1[a]BLESSED (HAPPY, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the [wo]man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans and purposes], nor stands [submissive and inactive] in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down [to relax and rest] where the scornful [and the mockers] gather.

Det fetstilta i versen, är nog det fel jag gjorde!

Nämnas kan även, att jag fick motta om inte hugg så väl slag, från FF(3c)!
